Frequently Asked Questions
What types of groups does BRLC serve?
BRLC serves all types of groups including but not limited to family groups, church youth and adult groups, school groups, college groups, athletic teams, corporate groups, and any youth and adult organizations. Between the nature resources that surrounds us and our programming resources, we can develop an enriching and unique experience for any kind of group.
Do you have space for our group?
We have several different partners including conference centers and resorts that help us to provide comfortable meeting, eating, and lodging space suitable for any group up to 200 people. If you have a group larger than that please give us a call and with enough prior notice, we can likely work out a solution for you.
What is the lodging like? Are they heated?
The partners we use for lodging arrangements can provide a wide range of lodging options that are sure to suit the needs of any group. All of our partners provide comfortable, heated facilities with options including retreat cabins, hotels style rooms, and even resort accommodations.
Will your experiences relate to the need of our group?
BRLC customizes every experience to suit the needs of each particular group we work with. Our facilitators are highly trained and can easily incorporate your goals and objectives into any experience.
Will I be forced to do things I do not want to do?
The programs at BRLC follow a "challenge by choice" philosophy. This means that YOU are in control of deciding what challenges are physically and mentally appropriate for you. The purpose of most of our programming is to grow through the challenge of the experience and therefore our facilitators will provide copious amounts of support and encouragement to help you achieve more than you might think is possible but will never force you to do anything against your will.
What do we do if it rains or snows?
Our programs are available rain or shine, 12 months a year. Most of our programs are conducted outside but we do have an amazing indoor programming space as well to make sure that your experience will not be hindered just because the weather doesn't cooperate.
What are the activities like? Do I have to have previous experience?
Many of our programs feature events such as high ropes courses and climbing walls as well as challenges low to the ground. These events may be strenuous, requiring physical exertion and may be conducted at heights ranging from on the ground to heights as high as 50 feet off the ground. Programs at height utilize harnesses and other equipment to provide safety for our participants. Participants must be able to follow instructions and accept direction from our staff. None of our programs require participants to have any previous experience and are suitable for beginners.
What if I, or individuals in our group, have a disability or medical condition?
Prior to your arrival, we ask each participant to complete a medical history, so we are aware of any special needs in your group. The staff is well trained, and will remind team members of the physical limitations of each exercise as we go. BRLC has staff that have worked extensively with people with disabilities and welcomes the opportunity to serve individuals or groups who may require special consideration. If you have specific questions or concerns relating to your physical ability to participate please contact us and we will be happy to discuss them with you.
